Ball valves

At Alflow, we have different kinds of ball valves for both sanitary and industrial applications. For example, we have manual, electric, automatic or pneumatic ball valves. Check out our selection on this page and buy your ball valves from Alflow.

Ball valves provide shut-off in the process system

A ball valve, also called ball valve, is one of the most commonly used valve types. It belongs to the type of valves called shut-off valves and is therefore suitable for shutting off gases or liquids in process systems. The advantage of a ball valve is that it can shut off most media - both under vacuum and pressure. In comparison, a solenoid valve is not tight when it comes into contact with chemical liquids and gases or if there is a difference in pressure. This is where a ball valve, with its simple and solid construction, can help you get the job done.

The ball valve consists of a valve body with hydraulic connections and seals. Using a ball with a pierced hole, the valve helps to seal the flow of liquids and gases. The small ball can have either two or three holes, allowing you to customise the flow. This gives you an optimal and efficient way to regulate the flow, as the valve itself can regulate which liquids and gases should not be in the flow.

Ball valves for multiple needs

Thanks to the small ball in the valve, the valve can precisely regulate, open or close the flow of various media. Other types of shut-off valves may not offer the same sealing as our ball valves, which is why an Alflow ball valve can be the right choice to achieve the best result. A ball valve can be used under both vacuum and pressure. This means that our ball valves, made from optimal materials, are suitable for both large and small installations working with chemically aggressive media.

You can use our ball valves for several industries, among others:

  • Food industry
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Chemical industry

This means that whether you need a valve for district heating, food or chemical media, we have a ball valve to suit the different purposes. Our valves are made of stainless steel, acid-resistant steel or plastic for the best sealing in the process.

Our ball valves are easy to use and you can choose between manual, electric, automatic or pneumatic models. With manual models, simply turn the handle to quickly regulate the flow of liquids and gases or close the valve completely.

However, if the system requires a more advanced solution, then a pneumatic, electric or automatic ball valve is suitable. Here, the valve can be opened or closed electronically or using compressed air. The electric models can close the valve electronically to give you the most precise flow of gas or water. Therefore, electric models can be the right choice if it is important to achieve a very precise shut-off in the ball valve.

A pneumatic ball valve keeps the valve tight using air in a hydraulic system. Whichever type you choose, you'll get the most efficient solution for the job with one of our reliable ball valves.

Stainless and acid-proof valves

When choosing from our many valves, there are several types to choose from. One of the most important things to consider when choosing a valve type is the type of media involved in the process. Does the system need to handle acid and other chemical media? Then our acid-resistant valves are an obvious choice. They have a resistant surface treatment so they can be used in the installation for several years.

An acid-proof valve is hot-dip galvanised, which means that it has been immersed in molten zinc that provides solid protection against acid and other media. However, if the valve is to work with water, a stainless steel model is often ideal to use. It doesn't offer the same amount of protection against corrosion as our acid-resistant models, but it also does the job perfectly.

What is a ball valve?

A ball valve is a simple on/off (stop) valve that is available as a manual or automatic valve. The valve is used in many processes, often as an alternative to the butterfly valve.

What are the benefits of a ball valve?

Ball valves can be used for most liquids and processes. They are also suitable for handling particles and viscous liquids.

What are the disadvantages of a ball valve?

A ball valve can create pressure surges if it is closed quickly against a pumped fluid flow.

What types of ball valves are there?

A ball valve is available in the following variants: manual valves with handle, automatic valves (actuator), 2-way and 3-way valves.
